Cookie Day

Today was chocolate chip cookie day. I use this cookie recipe. While the story behind it may be a hoax, it makes really really good chocolate chip cookies.

Here’s the cookie dough:

And ready to be baked:

Fresh out of the oven:

And cooling:

And as you can see, Lucy was her usual big help!

Tune in tomorrow when I will make boeuf bourgignon!

  1. I like the fact that cats help in the kitchen by taking a nap. Dogs just get underfoot. Cookies look yummy.

  2. YUMMY !!!!!!!!!!!! Luv.m.

  3. I too have been making this recipe for years and enjoying it. The story is of course, not true. We changed the story in our family to be “250 calories”. I figure that’s about right and DEFINITELY worth every calorie. YUM!

  4. Glad you had Lucy helping out in the kitchen. The chocolate chip cookies look lovely.

  5. Mmmmm, cookies! We’re snowed in, and baking cookies sounds like a great way to keep the kitchen warm and fragrant. Although I think I’m walking to the store this afternoon for a few more supplies…

    I love that recipe.

  7. Those look really good. I’m still planning on trying the NYTimes chocolate chip cookie recipe this weekend, but if I decide that they are too much work these cookies will be on the list!

  8. Those cookies look great – almost makes me wish I enjoyed baking! I used to work in catering, and the chef made the BEST Boeuf Bourg – but the recipe was not able to be broken down into a family-size portion. Will you be printing the Boeuf recipe also? (pretty please?)

  9. I have used this recipe for years and love it, as do all of my co-workers who ask me EVERY year “are you making your cookies this year?” I made 2 batches this year and everyone was happy. I have one more batch to make with my daughter when she gets in for Christmas. Speaking of that, here is wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.

  10. anne marie in philly says:

at MY house, the dough would not have made it into the oven…

    can’t wait to see tomorrow’s boeuf creation…

I am making your chocolate pound cake on tuesday; it WILL make it into my oven! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. I use that recipe a lot, too — very yum! But, like anne marie in philly, I enjoy the dough, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Wow! Happy baking day,it’s nice to see that Lucy is such a great help. All of mine would have been doing the same thing, except Hobbs he would have been right in the middle of everything. Wishing you a and yours the best. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

  14. I am into cooking lately- roasting veggies, baking, etc. We are in the deep freeze zone here in eastern WA- temperatures in teens during the day, single digits overnight, below zero windchills. Like #5 says, a great way to keep warm.

Of course Lucy’s helping- no cat hair in the cookies as long as she’s napping!

  15. they look so good!! Lucy knows they have chocolate…so why bother begging! Lol, i have had all my baked goods tucked away for folks baskets….hubby keeps coming upstairs asking where i have jidden the cookies!

  16. That is a good cookie recipe. I always figured that it was spread by the chocolate industries… since it has SO much chocolate in it. That’s what makes it so delicious. Yummm.
