Quick Update

I’m back from my quick trip to Delaware — had a great time!

I took the train up on Friday and was met at the station by my hostess, Janice aka Obstiknit (pssst! Janice is participating in a three-day breast cancer walk in October — check out her cancer walk blog for details).

We attended a potluck dinner at her LYS Stitches With Style that night. It was great to hang out with all these fun knitters. Saturday I taught two classes on techniques for toe-up socks, then hopped on the train to come home.

Janice and her 4 beautiful kitties were great hosts — thanks, y’all! And thanks to Linda and everyone at Stitches With Style for making me feel so welcome and ensuring I had such a great time.

Today was for hanging out with my Lucy and doing exciting things like laundry.

I knit some on my still-un-named circular shawl.

Oh, and I drew a winner for the Martha Stewart cupcake book — Mary. If your name is Mary and you entered the contest, check your email to see if you are the Mary, because I’ve send you a message.

Lucy sez:

“I’m happy to have my Momma home !”

  1. Hi honey! Welcome home! Glad you had a knittin’ good time. The shawl is lookin’ good, too!
.-= Cindy K´s last blog ..WIP Mania – two down for the count =-.

  2. anne marie in philly says:

steven and meredith say: “cousin lucy, did you give momma a hard time cause she hung out with 4 other kittehs?”

my kids always accuse me of being unfaithful whenever I pet the neighbor’s kittehs…(sigh)

  3. Your lovely blue shawl photo makes Lucy’s eyes look so blue. Maybe this one should be for her?

  4. Heh, Anne Marie had the same question I did! Does Lucy get jealous when you hang out with other kitties? Does she sniff your luggage and make a fuss? Welcome home!
.-= pdxknitterati´s last blog ..Voilà Ishbel, encore =-.

  5. Lucy is absolutely precious in that picture.

  6. I need to see if one of my LYSs can have you up to teach. I can do toe up socks, but I only have one of the toe techniques down. It would be great to see some of them done in person, so I can make the leap from the book to the needles.

(I mostly do the knit a little rectangle and pick up stitches, which doesn’t look quite as clean as the figure 8… except my figure 8 cast ons are horrible.)
.-= Seanna Lea´s last blog ..from the guild =-.

  7. It’s a little hard to see it, all bunched up on the needles, but that color reminds me of the Caribbean (not that I’ve ever actually SEEN the Caribbean). How about something like ‘Caribbean Surf’ for your unnamed shawl, if you are open to suggestions. Your Delaware jaunt sounds fun!

  8. So far it looks like an artichoke…you remember the joke..artie chokes three for a dollar at the local farmers market…lol..hes in jail now…
