No outfit is complete without cat hair

Several of you asked where I got the little pillow pictured in yesterday’s post. Mine was a gift, but by googling the phrase “no outfit is complete without cat hair” I found this. Looks like there is only one in stock as I write this.

I am woefully short on knitting progress today. I’m working on something unbloggable as my commuter project, and I did very little work on my Aestlight Shawl last night.

I did do the first row of the lace, though.

Because I have little knitting progress to report, allow me to distract you with a birthday gift I received, from the very thoughtful and generous Anne Marie in Philly:

This is a lovely quilted knitting bag that Anne Marie had made especially for me for my birthday! (Anne Marie sure knows what my favorite color is :-D)

The bag is from My Sister’s Bags, and I love it. Thank you, Anne Marie!

  1. what a lovely, thoughtful gift!

  2. That pillow? I have the t-shirt. Seriously. I got it from a catalog years ago, and it came in dog as well. I wonder if perhaps Cafe Press doesn’t have them. I wore mine all the time, especially since the t-shirt was black, and we had cats of tabby, orange, and calico at the time.

  7. DH got me a lovely bag for our anniversary,a Scooby Doo bag with pockets , made by Jessie Beechboard,he found her on Ebay, she did a beautiful job with the stitching and lining inside pockets to with a magnetic clasp I use it as a knitting bag and a purse, oh yes it’s washable too .

  8. The pillow is still great, but I think I originally saw this (the concept really) in Herschnerrs catalog. It was either counted or stamped cross-stitch.

  10. Yesterday I looked through the Ravelry shawl patterns and put one in favorites. Later I read your blog and the name “Aestlight” seemed familiar. Yep, it’s the one that I put in favorites to do next. Hope mine turns out as pretty as yours!!!

  11. Love the bag!

  12. Anne Marie rocks. And that is one very pretty bag!

  13. Happy Belated Birthday and New Year, Wendy! I’m so glad you liked the pillow – I confess I feel honored every time I see it in the background of a Lucy pic. But I think it was the resemblance to Izzy that sealed the deal. A cat worthy of remembrance.

  14. In the days when it was less common for women to wear pants to work, I had a colleague who would bemoan the futility of trying to look nice. She would say something like, “What’s the point of fussing over your outfit. You’ll only get to work and find a piece of kitty litter matted under your pantyhose.” The cat hair was the least of my worries.
