You Gotta Have Friends

Thank you to the generosity of Tola this past weekend in Philly, Teddy has a new friend.

They seem to have gotten very close very quickly, haven’t they? But there is a good reason — they do have something in common.

It’s always nice to make a new friend with whom you share a special bond. 🙂

Inside the zippy portion of Teddy’s new friend, I found this:

One of my own personal Holy Grails of knitting — a row counter that turns easily enough that it doesn’t take two hands and force, but doesn’t turn so easily that it goes spinning around and loses track of what it is supposed to be counting.

It’s the little things in life that help . . .

I’m plugging along on my stole but as it doesn’t look a whole lot different than yesterday’s pic, I’ll spare you.

I’ve got a couple more repeats to go before I can put this baby together, so I hope to finish it this week.

Just a Heads Up . . .

I’ll be signing books locally this coming Friday, April 2, 5 – 7 pm, at fibre space in Alexandria, VA. All the deets are here. I hope I’ll see a bunch of you local knitters there.

Lucy sez:

“That means Momma won’t be leaving me for the weekend! I’ll just wait for her here . . . “

  1. I didn’t know. Teddy had zipper! How useful! Where could I find something like this?

  2. Your Lucy sounds like she’s as much a Momma’s girl as my Hinky-boo. Bless they liddle hearts! So nice to come home & find someone who’s honestly excited to see you.

  9. I have a couple of zippered items. It ends up being surprisingly handy to have the random storage space, but it is super easy for me to forget what I’ve put where!

I’m working on the “Laurel socks”. Love ’em.

If I am honest, didn’t think I would like this second book as well as I liked the first, but I was wrong. I appreciate the added complexity and I am going to have some extra special pieces to make now. Thanks!!!!

  11. Can’t wait to see your new book!

  12. Hi, thank you for posting your picture of a pi shawl. It inspired me to make one. Also, when I would run into a problem while knitting, since I’ve never knit anything like it, I could look at what you had done, and figure out what I needed to do.

Yours is lovely. I hope the one I knit is lovely- blue in knitpicks merin0o- and that the recipient enjoys it.

    so, thank you.

  13. Jim Gonzalez says:

Very cute. I hope Teddy likes his new friend. By the way, if you ever need to ship a car overseas, look up Auto Shipping Network. They’re great. Keep up the good work!

  14. I thread a rubber band thru my counters like that so that they can ride on my circulars while knitting.
