Knit Nation

As I have mentioned before on ye olde blogge (and on my Travel & Teaching page), I will be teaching at Knit Nation at the end of July in London. What is this event?

Knit Nation is a knitting and spinning expo that will take place in London, England July 29 – 31. There will be yarn, classes, fiber, and festivities including a Ravelry talk and party. Centrally located at the Royal College next door to the renowned Victoria and Albert Museum, you can absorb the sites of London between classes, yarn shopping, and searching for the perfect skein of Wollmeise. Please come join us!

Today is the kick-off of the Knit Nation blog tour and I am the featured Knit Nation teacher of the day. Head on over and take a look — there’s a little interview with me there.

And be sure to check back there on Thursday (April 15), as they will be profiling the amazing Shirley Paden then!

That lovely pile of Seasilk that I posted on the blog yesterday has been wound into a ball and knitting has commenced.

I’m making it up as I go along. I hope I like what I’m doing because if I don’t, that’s a whole bunch of stitches to rip out.

Lucy sez:

Any time is a good time for a snack!

  1. Nice interview, but they need a new photo!! ;^)

  4. Very nice interview! You will have so much fun!! I wish I could go but not this year. I would love to take one of your classes and get some good pointers. Lucy Lucy, I agree any time is good for a snack!!

  5. I saw the ad in Interweave. One day I would love to go to a knitting expo. Maybe when the kids are a bit older. Very cool on the interview!

  6. Nice interview. Lovely photo, too.
I would love, love, love to be there. Sigh.

  7. I’m so excited! I’m taking a ‘heels and toes’ sock class with you! It’s going to be a fantastic weekend! At last we get something knitworthy happening in the UK!

Please have fun in London, and maybe try to find some of the antique stores. They were my favorite things when I went to visit. (Well, I was an hour away, but everywhere should have antique stores!)
Of course, I’m sure we’ll hear about new stashables when you get back!
    I’m so excited~

  10. Wow!! Wish I could afford to go, you will have a great time. That area of London is lovely with parks near by. Enjoy!!

  11. So wish i could go play!

QUESTION: How has your experience been with flying and your needles, supplies etc as carry on in your bag? I only ask as i was working for the airlines just after 9-11 and of course nothing was allowed then. How relaxed have they become? Will be flying cross country next month and hope to knit along the journey, (lol, and after having worked for the industry i do not like to put certain things in checked bags) Thanks for any info!

I am impressed that you have been invited to London. I want to go!

I loved the story about the guy who was surprised about your knititng method. I probably would have fallen out of my chair – especially since it was a guy.
