My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

As usual, when I do a blog contest, I have gotten a number of emails asking how to leave a comment on my blog. So I have finally written up a tutorial “How to Leave a Comment on a Blog Post.” If you are reading this post on my blog (instead of in an email if you are an email subscriber) you will see that I’ve put a permanent link to this tutorial in the right-hand sidebar, right at the top.

So . . . continue to comment away! ๐Ÿ™‚

In exciting knitting news, I reached the armholes on the back of my d’Azur top.

I am now on my second skein of the Ty-Dy yarn. The starting of a new skein seems not to have caused any problems in the striping of this yarn, so I am pleased.

Tomorrow I am off to Minneapolis, for classes and a book signing at Needlework Unlimited. I’ll be back here on the blog on Monday, and will announce the winners of all the wonderful freebies from Knitcircus then.

Lucy sez:

“Momma is going away again?”

  1. Have a safe trip, we’ll keep Miss Lucy entertained while you are away ๐Ÿ˜€ โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ

  2. Lynda Hitt says:

Wow!!!! a tutorial? That should lessen the emails about posting to your blog by, oh, about .001%, cuz you know, people that can’t reply to a blog post, can’t follow the arrows to read the tutorial.

  3. Pam aka inlovewithalpaca says:

I can’t wait to meet you on sunday It’s a little over 3 hours but a group of my knitting friends will be on our way from Iowa to see you on Sunday at the book signing. Have a safe trip.

  4. Poor Lucy… If I left home too much, my pets (and kids) would suffer from too much cupboard love – Lucy looks like she’s coping though.

  5. I’m not sure I understand this whole commenting process, could you explain it again please? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Have safe trip! ……… do I post comment again ? I forgot ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I just LOVE the photo of Lucy with every posting!

  8. Yea–you’re coming back to Minneapolis. I will be there. And, you timed this visit quite well–temps this weekend mid-80’s. Too warm for my taste, but better than -10

  9. How many e-mails do you think you’ll get asking how to find the comment tutorial? Somebody want to start a pool??

Have a fun and safe trip — we’ll wait right here for you to come back.

  14. Marylyn Sidle says:

  16. LaVelle Nott says:

I think the color stripes and the lace stripes make it look like plaid, I love the way that is turning out. One of these days I will have to try a sweater.

Thanks for the heads up on Knit Circus! Just when I though I had enough knitting planned — more things to drool over. ps my cats love Lucy!!

  34. I know several people that are going to be in Minneapolis this weekend. Spring Quilt Market is there now. I think it is still pretty cold there, so you had better take your warm stuff. It is balmy in Yorktown, Va today and a gorgeous day at that. Have fun!

  35. Nancy FP in Ferndale says:

Thanks for the heads up about Knitcircus – I’ll add to my favorites. Have a safe trip – and please enter me for the giveaway!

  36. Does this mean that when people ask you about commenting in the future you can say RTFM?

I know a lot of super intelligent people who all forget that they can look something up as fast as they can ask me a question. It is not always good to be a default knowledge repository.

  46. It’s very kind of you to be respectful of newbie readers. I have a question: how can I grab a “button” for my blog. The instructions I have tried don’t seem to work for blogspot. I would love to have your button on my blog.

  48. Wendy, the speed at which you knit up a garment always astounds me (I am the world’s slowest knitter – my limit is about 2 garments a year, despite all the hours I put in!).

Do you knit continental, or “normal” style? Do you have any tips on speeding up the knitting?

    Catherine xx

  49. I love that yarn, I have a skein of it in a different colorway but I can’t decide what to do with it ๐Ÿ™‚

You always find the neatest new yarns in such georgous colors! Yum! Green is my favorite color too. Great minds think alike. (Ha!) Please enter me in the drawing for Keri’s beautiful yarn.

  51. This is nothing short of a miracle that I have finally learned to post on this blog, and perhaps someday I may even win a contest. I think you should have a contest for the person who tried the most times to leave a message. I usally try every morning when I am fresh and ready for aggravation. I slipoped up tonight, and just cast on another sock and decided to give it a try. Voila! Kiss Lucy,

  52. Eloise Warfel says:

I love that yarn. I think it was dyed with me in mind.
