Crochet Inspiration

A couple of weeks ago I received a review copy of this lovely book:

This is Crochet Inspiration by Sasha Kagan. Now, I do not crochet, apart from being able to create a chain and do a few simple stitches when required to do so for, perhaps, an edging for my knitting. But this book does look lovely.

Pages and pages of instructions for different stitches:

And some patterns in the back. I love this belt:

Who’d like my review copy? Leave a comment to this post by 4:00pm eastern time on Thursday, October 21 and at that time I’ll draw a name at random to receive my book.

Meanwhile, I am knitting along on the back of Eala Bhan.

And Lucy is doing her imitation of a muffin.

  1. That sweater is going to be *gorgeous*! Please don’t enter me in the contest, I don’t crochet enough to warrant a copy of the book.

  2. Oooo.. That book would be perfect to help my crochet students at the Senior Center – I know some basic Irish Crochet type flowers, but having other options to teach them would be great. Love the cables on the Eala Bhan!

  5. I used to crochet but not so much anymore — save the book for someone else. But I had to say that we call that kitteh pose “sitting like a duck” — however, I like your muffin metaphor MUCH better!
kmkat´s last blog post ..Chickens in helmets! Chicken in parachutes!

  6. I would like to win the book! I’m actually working on a crochet project on and off in between knitting, spinning, and life!

Chloe is envious of Lucy’s chocolate markings..hers are a much paler lavender and she’s feeling washed out in comparison :))

  7. When our Kandi sits like that with her paws folded under we call it “sitting on her brisket.”

  15. That book looks like such fun; I’d love a copy and might very well purchase it if I do not win. I am more comfortable crocheting, but am plodding along learning to knit.

Your sweater is looking great, Wendy!

I’d love the book. I don’t crochet, but my mom does, and she’d have a blast with it.

  51. Lucy as a muffin is just too cute. I am a long-time crocheter and brand new kniter. Crochet Inspiration is one of my all-time favorite crochet refrence books. There is a beautiful full-color photo of each pattern, written directions, and a pattern chart. The samples are made of different fibers and weights of yarn. Any time I’m ready to try something new, I can always find a nice pattern. I try it in a few different weights of yarn and hook sizes till I find something I like.

  52. Love the sweater and the book!

  53. Crochet is good for making clever little things, isn’t it. That’s about my crochet limit.

Give your Love Muffin a nuzzle from me. 🙂
