Just Another Manic Monday

Wish it were Sunday. Cuz that’s my funday. My I-don’t-have-to-run day.

But I am of good cheer. Sort of. If I can make it through Wednesday, I have two days off from work. Never mind that there is stuff like dental work involved . . . it is time off from work and that is what I am focusing on.

So, Sunday passed in a blur of laundry and chores. Oh, and some knitting. I made some progress on Eal Bhan, but it is not terribly noticeable.

It’s that 10 rows to the inch gauge that makes a lot of work look like very little. 😉

(The color in that photo is way off — it’s much more of a forest green.)

I set it aside late in the evening and picked up my mindless sock. It’s a nice change to knit on something you don’t have to look at.

I’m at the point on the back of Eala Bhan where I don’t need to look at the chart — it’s the same 8 rows over and over. But I do need to look at the knitting to cross the cables, and I need to look at the pattern because there is shaping going on every few rows.

Here’s a pic from the Lucy Lap-Cam!

  1. What camera do you use to take pics of Lucy if she’s in your lap?

I just love the new sweater you are knitting…and I also think the color is perfect for it too….a real Irish charmer…

  3. It might not look like much progress, but it sure does look lovely! Enjoy your days off… dental work and all!

  4. Oh, a Brenda Carlisle earworm! Thanks, Wendy. 😉

I have Thursday and Friday off too and can’t wait.

  5. Lucy is very good at sitting!

  6. That’s been my Monday earworm for years, I always think of that song. The sweater looks beautiful even with the color being off.

  7. Oops — I’ve obviously slept since the 80s. But not enough recently. I’m mixing up the Go-Gos and the Bangles (in my previous comment).

  8. Wendy, you’re dating yourself and the rest of us that know and love that song! Sorry about the dental work but hopefully you got some good knitting in!

  9. Hi Wendy,
I would love that crochet book. By the way, what you call Lucy’s muffin, we call meat loafing when our cats sit like that because they look like little meat loaves.

  10. Right, the last picture was more true to its color. In this pic it looks closer to a grey when it is really a green. Must have been the flash, perhaps? I so love the look of Celtic dream. I think that would be a better name than Elan Bhan, or whatever!

  11. The cabling is gorgeous.

    Loving the lap cam!!!

  12. Oooo Eala Bhan is looking fabulous, totally beyond my knitting skills at the moment so I shall look at it longingly for now but definitely something to aim for.

Lucy looks very comfortable, if I sit down for more than 10 seconds I usually find my Whippet Trevor snuggled up next to me.

  13. I am loving your sweater. I am a cable fiend, which doesn’t explain why one of the sweaters I started earlier this year is undone as it is 90% cables!

  14. I LOVE that Eala Bhan sweater!!!!

  15. I like your mindless sock … there’s an interesting pattern emerging 🙂

  16. Indeed, what is going on with that sock? Self-patterning yarn, presumably. I’m starting to rethink my aversion to it. Can one think oneself out of an aversion?

Beautiful sweater, too. Off to scope it on Rav.
