Happy November

Welcome to November. And in my neck of the woods, colder temperatures! Hurray! I can tell it is officially cold when Lucy gets on her sheepskin for a nap instead of her silk pillow by the window (though she did both over the weekend).

I got a nice chunk of knitting done yesterday, though most of it was on my stealth project, so no pix. But I can show you the front of my Almost Hawthorn pullover, which I also worked on yesterday.

Don’t forget, you have until tomorrow at 4:00pm eastern time to leave a comment on last Thursday’s post to be entered in a drawing for the adorable Knitted Wild Animals book. And on Wednesday I’ll have another book review for you and a chance to win a copy of the book being reviewed, so stay tuned for that.

Public Service Announcement

This may seem obvious to many of you, but judging from the number of emails I’ve been getting lately, it is not obvious to everyone. I am in no way affiliated with the Wendy yarn company and the patterns they publish. I can’t help you with problems with their patterns, tell you where to find any of their out-of-print patterns, or help you find one of their yarns. Their website is here (found via a google search).

Lucy thinks she is being stealthy.

  1. The almost Hawthorne sweater is coming along very nicely!

When my tabby cat, Dexter, wants to be stealthy he get underneath the sofa and then he tries to swipe at peoples feet when they walk by. Funny cat!

  4. Shirley. in PA says:

Wendy, I’m with you re: colder days. Your new sweater is gorgeous, and I love the color, it’s one of my favorites. Shirley

  5. It’s not as if you’re the only person in the world with that name who knits or is, in some way, related to yarn and patterns. Just amazing. Well, maybe it isn’t, given…. OK, I won’t specify what strange things have happened recently.

Anyhow, that’s a nice color you’re knitting now (that non-stealth project), but I still like that green better (the one that’s resting for now, until a really warm sweater is needed), just because it’s green. I’m knitting red just now, however, which is fine with me. The only thing I really dislike knitting is solid black in the evening.

  6. I love your sweater you’re working on, I am a huge cable fan. And the color is gorgeous. Send some of your cool weather over to Southern California, it’s 90 today! Ugh! I can’t even think of knitting anything right now.

  7. Love the colder air temps! Time to break out the sweaters and make soup! Just don’t want the ice and snow…

  8. I just want to give Lucy a big hug. How did you ever find such a gorgeous kitty?

  9. Stunning how “lowest common denominator” people can be sometimes. Love the sweater!

  10. I understand completely about the stealth projects. Between knowing that my mother reads my blog and attempting to stockpile stuff for Etsy and craft fairs, I feel like I don’t have any knitting anymore that I can post pictures of!

  11. I’m behind in my blog reading, but I would LOVE a copy of the wild animal book, cause you’re right they are just so darn cute, and I have grandkids would LOVE some of those cute little critters.. I’m not to late am I?

  12. Wait, you mean there could be more than one person with the name Wendy? And both on the internet? Nah.
