My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

It’s All Over But the Seaming

The second sleeve is done.

Seaming will commence almost immediately.

The color in these photos is once again off (thought not nearly as badly off as yesterday), due to rainy cloudy day and the fact that the sun is setting by the time I get home and start thinking about photographing my knitting. Today I used a flash, yesterday I did not. The color in the photos in Sunday’s blog post (November 14) is the most accurate: a light lavender.

Swatching of denim yarn is ongoing. Excitement abounds.

For those of you who have participated in Shanti’s Mom’s project to knit hats for sailors, check out this truly heart-warming post!

Lucy is excited!

  1. I yawn when I’m excited too….beautiful sweater…and kitty…

  2. I’m so glad I was able to get my hat to Shanti’s mom in time. It looks like the operation was a glorious success!!!

  3. Thank you for letting us know about the hat project. One of my sons served in the Navy for six years, so I was very happy to be able to participate in such a great effort. The holidays are difficult for these men and women and they are deserving of our support.

  4. Color in photos is such a weird weird thing. My camera, for whatever reason, cannot take a decent picture of anything green. Does not matter how good the light is.

    LOVE that shot of Lucy.
Virginia´s last blog post ..No mo mojo

  5. I’ve been chcking your blog daily (I get emails) and just wanted to say two things.
    1. I love seeing pics of Lucy. I’m a cat owner and lover too, so I can relate to all of her poses and musings.
    2. Thanks for being an inspiration. I am a beginner. Right now I’m pretty sure I stink. I’ve made a couple scarves here and there, but this time, I am determined to make something else! Love seeing your work!

  6. *yawn* Lucy, I will yawn with you!
Seanna Lea´s last blog post ..10 Tuesday going to the movies

  7. Thanks for the update from Shanti’s Mom. It’s so heartwarming to see that project coming together!

  8. Lovely sweater! Seaming is my least favorite part. I’ve got a cardigan that has been waiting to be seamed for months.

  9. Lois in Boise says:

Loved reading about (and seeing) all the hats for sailors. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I contributed 2 hats (Israeli soldier pattern) and also made 4 hats for my adult children. Thanks again.

  10. Lucy is NOT excited…..she is performing the jaw-cracking yawn that m y Ozzie-man amuses me with daily. I mean….just HOW BORING can life possibly be to elicit 3 of these in a row…then he looks at me as if to say….”what?!.
