A Sleeve is Born

Not much time for blogging tonight — I got home a lot later than usual because I stopped off at the airport on my way home to meet up with a friend who is in town just one night. (Hi, Aimee!)

I did join the front and back and knit the neckband last night. The band looks a little floppy at the moment — it will firm up once it is washed and dried. It is a fairly wide neck because I want this sweater loose and easy-fitting — there will always be a tee shirt under it when I wear it so I wanted a large opening at the neck. No photo, as it is too dark to get a decent one.

But I did take a photo of the sleeve progress at lunch today.

Floppy Cats!

Thank you to Jenny of Floppy Cats for leaving a comment, alerting me to the existence of her site. If you are a lover of Ragdoll cats, do check it out. There’s a lot of great information there, give-aways, and plenty of photos of adorable Ragdolls!

Lucy sez:

“I’m a floppy cat!”

  1. I love Ragdoll cats. However, I once read that it’s not good to have a very docile Ragdoll with other ordinary housecats as they would bully it. My Bootsie bully would totally take advantage of that, so I admire from a distance.

  2. Nice sleeve…!

  3. Gotta love that rib!
Jeanie Babbage´s last blog post ..No knitting here today

  4. I always love how Lucy looks like the perfect foot warmer when she sprawls out like that. My dog, Victor, sometimes does that, but he is a much larger foot warmer than I need even on the coldest winter days.

  5. Floppy cats, oh floppy floppy… (to paraphrase Steve Martin)

The denim sweater is looking great!

  6. Very pretty sleeve….and even prettier kitty. Luv Lucy!!

  7. The copyright notice on the RSS feed for today’s post says “Copyright 2008”. Thought you’d like to know so you can correct it.

Did you just add the copyright notice? This is the first time I’ve noticed it (Google Reader recently, Bloglines before that.)

  8. I’m so glad you posted the floppycats link! I wasn’t familiar with the term “ragdoll cats,” yet after reading that site and googling others, I’m pretty convinced I have one! Or she comes very close. She’s a black and white with gold eyes, but she has all the personality traits and most of the other physical ones of a ragdoll. I always knew she was extra special! Bess

  9. Yes!! She is a total floppy cat – love her and am exciting about featuring her on the site on Jan. 24! Thanks for submitting her story!

  10. How adorable; I’d never heard of a Ragdoll Cat! I wonder is Lucy one?

  11. Hi Wendy!

Even if still undone, you really have a nice sleeve there. 🙂 I wonder if your done with it by now? 🙂 By the way, Floppycats ( is really a great website about Ragdoll cats, I’ve checked it out too! A very useful and helpful site especially for those who have inquiries regarding their Ragdolls.

Happy Holidays Wendy! And to Lucy of course! 🙂
