My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

I finished the front of my Calmer Aran.

I had been toying with the idea of working a square neckline but at the last minute changed my mind and did a round neck instead.

I plan to do a narrow neckband of one sort or another. Stay tuned.

I am working on the first sleeve now. This sweater will have saddle shoulders, so the center panel of the sleeve will be extended up onto the shoulder. Again, stay tuned.

We never did get much of anything in the way of snow — the huge east coast blizzard grazed us and we just had a dusting of snow. Lucky near miss, eh?

Lucy is doing her Greta Garbo impersonation.

I like how her little ears are flipped back so she can keep track of me.

  1. Glad you missed out on the snow. I like Lucy’s ears being flipped back too!! My little doggies do the same thing!

  2. Ah, the radar ears. I may look like I’m ignoring you but my ears say otherwise!

  3. Liz in Missouri says:

That’s going to be such a pretty sweater. I’m a big fan of cables and I just love the color! Can’t wait to see the next installment!

  4. anne marie in philly says:

8 inches AND I had a snow day yesterday!

meredith and steven were happy to have me return to work today.

  5. Looks like Lucy has a wonderful Christmas!

My two, Kibby and Oregano are going crazy as its too windy and cold to go outside. How can two cats sound like such a herd of elephants when they play chase?

  6. Glad you missed all the snow! I was wondering if Lucy has a new bed and if so would you let me know where to find one? Hope you Christmas was a great one and I love the sweater!!

  7. The sweater is beautiful, really nice work. I love the color too. Can’t wait to see the finished object!

  8. The sweater front is beautiful!

  9. The cat ears trick is why they have 32 muscles in each ear.

  10. My DH calls that “Kitty Radar” Love the sweater – so pretty!

  11. Lucy’s just making sure you’re paying her attention – for the first white Christmas in about 60 years we ended up with close to 5 inches — but by the end of the week we will be 60 — love North Carolina weather – and the snow didn’t really happen till late Christmas so Sunday was the day to play in the snow. Loving the idea of saddle shoulders think it adds another dimension to the overall can’t wait

  12. I’d suggest you could have some of mine, but I actually like the snow when I’m not walking Victor out in it!

  13. We got a lot more snow than you did, but we can handle it a lot better!

Love the sweater; it’s going to be gorgeous!

The ears tell the story every time!

  14. I have to say, I got sox in a box and love it!! It is perfect for my emergency sock knitting bag. Trips to the hospital with mom can be unpredictable and long. I can keep everything stashed in a little “sanity” bag.

  15. Your sweater is coming along nicely. I love cables!

  19. Hope you and Lucy have a wonderful year 2011.
