Last Post of 2010

Goodbye to 2010! It’s been an interesting year.

Lucy and I will be back next year. I will be ending the year knitting the sleeve of my Calmer sweater:

Lucy will be doing what she does best: acting adorable. Right now she is resting up for our big New Year’s celebration tomorrow night.

You can tell this is serious napping by the tail-over-face position.

  1. Wishing you all a fabulous 2011

  9. Happy New Year to all (and Happy Birthday to *you*)! Thanks for all the inspiration in 2010. I’m looking forward to your knitting adventures (and new book) in 2011.

  10. Happy and Prosperous New Year to you & yours!

  11. The sweater is working up beautifully. I’ve always had a fondness for Aran knit sweaters, and yet I have never made one for myself. Probably because being so large, it would not be all that flattering on me, and would break the bank buying enough yarn to make one that covered me properly. LOL But I have knit them for others. I’m sure your lovely sweater will look very nice on you.

Happy New Year and all the best for you and your, plus Lucy, in 2011.

  12. Wishing many blessings in the new year for you and yours! Thanks for sharing in our knitting lives!

  13. I think Lucy has the exact right position for brining in the new year! A happy one to both of you!

  25. Hi Wendy,

Happy New Year to you,Lucy and the rest of the family from the UK.

I am loving the progress of the Calmer jumper, the pattern is gorgeous.

    Best wishes,

  26. Great exquisite details. Entertain and inspire us. Tell us about a few of your UFO’s.
Knowing we aren’t the only one with some projects stashed in baskets and bags might spur ALL of us to ‘finish’ one or two before the yarn rots.

  27. Happy New year to you and Lucy!! I have a huge question. The other pictures of your Calmer sweater and it was a light green. Today it was bright yellow. What colour is it.

Also a little early HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

  28. Hello, 2011! May the new year bring everyone health, happiness, productivity, and prosperity.

    Happy new year!
I discovered your blog recently and I really really like it. I am a knitter myself, and I felt lonely as such because where I live (Serbia, Europe) knitting is not so popular, especially among young people. I am amazed by the beautiful yarns you have in the USA, you don’t know how lucky you are!
After reading your post about a regular day of yours, in wich you wrote about knitting a sock in a train, and a not-so-frindly grandma-looking lady that criticied you, I felt encuraged and now I think that my hobby is really cool. Thank you!
Best wishes for the New Year!
PS Sorry for the mistakes, I am better in knitting than in English grammar and orthography.

  30. Lucy definitely excels at being adorable. Saru-chan has been doing the nap with her little toe pads peeking out. They look like tiny little pink and brown jelly beans!
