Vernal Equinox

I’m popping in with a quickie post today. I just finished doing my taxes and need to go lie down in a darkened room with a cool cloth on my head.

But look! Vernal Equinox and done and blocked!

Blocked it measures 70″ across the top and 30″ down the center back. It takes under 600 yards of heavy laceweight/light fingering weight yarn, using a U.S. size 5 needle.

In other news, Japanese Garden Shawl donations are just shy of $3400! Give yourselves a round of applause!

Lucy was napping while the Vernal Equinox shawl photoshoot went on. I know she’ll be kicking herself later for missing out.

  1. That is stunning! I hope you’re going to release that pattern too. I honestly don’t know how you get them done so quickly!
    Bravo 🙂
Sherri´s last blog post ..What kind of salad do you make

  2. Beautiful!!!! Is Lucy’s favorite color green? She always seems to pay more attention to the green projects (ie previous post). Will this one be for sale eventually?

  3. Once again, your talent astounds me. Not to mention your generosity with Japanese Garden shawl. Everything is beautiful and I can’t wait for the pattern.

  4. So pretty, and the perfect shade of green (but you probably already knew that!).

  5. Doing my taxes today, too, so I feel your pain. Beautiful shawl!

  6. Beautiful pattern and shawl. Can’t wait for it to be released. Thanks for another lovely design.

  7. wow just lovely…i’m so envious

  8. I feel your pain with the taxes! Same story, different address 🙂
Would love for you to release the Vernal Equinox pattern, I love it!
Wonderful news about the Japanese Garden shawl!

  9. Beautiful!! Both the shawl and Lucy, of course; I wouldn’t want her to get jealous 😉

  10. Beautiful….

  11. Our taxes are almost done. I just need to mail one of the forms in (state taxes for some reason just felt extra irritating). This shawl uses so little yardage that I might be able to get away with leftovers from one of my other projects, which would be awesome!
Seanna Lea´s last blog post ..pretending to be Chris

    Hope the migraine ends soon!

The Vernal Equinox is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

  16. Your designs are amazing-and you just churn them out one after the other, so lucky for all of us who want them but don’t have your creativity. I certainly hope you will be making this pattern available also!

I hope you are well healed-you must be with all of this knitting you are doing!

Greetings to Lucy when she awakens!

  17. Absolutely gorgeous shawl – can’nt wait for the instructions to be published and hope it is soon — am looking for a new project to give to someone in June to wear at a wedding.

  18. It’s beautiful… dare I say that I want to make one too!?

  19. Natalie Doyle says:

    Stunning, Wendy. Absolutely gorgeous.

  20. Ooh, lovely! And… oh yeah… taxes. I was going to do that over spring break. ::Sigh:: Break out the TurboTax…
Hissy Stitch´s last blog post ..Astounding FOs

  21. I continue to be amazed by how quickly you knit up what appear to be such intricate lace shawls!

  22. Lucy is so going to kick herself that she napped through your blocking without her direct supervision. I’m sure she’ll figure that you’ll regret not waking her when it doesn’t fit properly. It’ll serve you right! By the way, could you video a cat kicking herself? You could donate the proceeds from America’s Funniest Home Videos!!

  23. Another beautiful shawl !!!!! And love the color! I haven’t even started my taxes yet and vacationing in Alabama and NC…I could almost close enough to come visit you.

  24. taxes, ick, but don’t you feel better now that they’re done? I’m still working on mine.

  25. That is truly gorgeous. I cannot believe Lucy slept though a photo shoot!!! I am doing taxes also and will need a stiff drink when I finish I am sure!!!!

  26. Your patterns are some of the most well thought out of any designer out there. You’re so prolific, I just can’t keep up!! I’m thrilled to see that you’ve been able to donate so much back to a people whose resilience is amazing!
