It’s hard to believe that it is May already. It seems like it was just January.
I think I’ve overdosed on Royal Wedding coverage. It’s everywhere! Though I did enjoy watching it on Friday. And in Friday’s mail I got a package from my buddy L-B. Inside was this:
And this:
This is limited edition pattern and yarn commemorating the Royal Wedding from Fyberspates in the U.K., still available (as I post this) here. They are beautiful! I can’t decide whether to knit up the yarn or keep it as a souvenir. Thanks, L-B!
Speaking of knitting (which I do a lot here), I have abandoned the shawl-in-progress that I posted about on Thursday. The pattern just wasn’t doing it for me, so I’ve cast it aside and started a circular shawl:
This is being knit from Dream in Color Everlasting in the Surf colorway, on 3.75mm needles. It is a considerably larger project than the triangular shawls I’ve been doing lately so it will take me a while to finish.
Lucy sez:
“Does this mean I get a little break from blocking duties? Yay!”
I love the color of the new shawl. I haven’t tried a circular one yet except in crochet.

I can’t wait to see this circular shawl completed … I just bought the pattern for your Exonumist Shawl last night because I fell in love with the way the design “starbursts” out. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this one!!
Is it just me or is the royal wedding shawl in tardis blue. just a thing i noticed. LOL Can’t wait to see the new circular shawl.
Your circular shawl looks great. Just wanted to let you know that I ordered the same yarn you used to make the Shetland Border Shawl. The yarn has not been mailed out yet, so I asked the owner when he was going to mail it. He replied to me that suddenly he received a large number of orders for the lace weight and asked me if something was going on. I told him that YOU had mentioned this yarn on your blog and no wonder that lots of people wanted it! I hope this was okay that I told him about your post.
OoooOOO Circular! (que inflection like California Beach Bunny : “tubular”!) I just started a circular lace motif, it’s radical fun! 😀

Thanks for showing us the wedding shawl. Wish I thought I could do it. And I love the color also. I haven’t done a lace shawl yet, but I so love looking at yours!
Thank you for sharing the wedding shawl. It is beautiful! A little out of my knitting league, but hopefully one day!
Very nice…a pretty color. Very spring.
I’ve been lusting after the royal wedding yarn since I first saw it last week. It is a gorgeous color and just makes me drool (definitely a top pick in my color pallette).
Do working kitties have a union? Poor little Lucy does look overworked to the point of being cross-eyed. You really need to slow down a bit so she can keep up!
Wow! That is one STUNNING color and shawl! I can’t wait to get the yarn from the UK. My impulses took over and I just ordered it from the web site that you mentioned in your blog. That shawl has got to be one of the prettiest shawls I have ever seen! Like you, I am not sure if I will use the yarn because it is a collector’s limited edition.. but I will make the shawl, perhaps in a pretty handpainted yarn that I have in my stash or that I order online somewhere. I thought that the color was more of a royal blue though.. It is my favorite color, so I am hoping that this yarn is true to the color in the picture on the web site. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
I am such a major sucker for gorgeous yarn! Help me, please!
The shawl is beautiful. But I have a question. I am almost finished with a lace shawl for my daughter on her wedding day. Is there a good method to block it? I have never blocked anything before and want to do it right.
Thank you
Wendy, I love the color of your shawl underway. Please enter me for this week’s give-away!
I have lately become a knitting addict!!
The circular shawl looks intriguing, though I can’t say I would look forward to 700+ stitches on one round. There is something about this photo of Lucy that makes it one of my favorite Lucy shots, perhaps ever. Hey Lucy.
