Another Rainy Day

It might be time to start thinking about building an ark. Lucy is looking for another kitty so they can line up two-by-two to get on said ark. The view out my window taken a few minutes ago:

I do have a superpower when it comes to rain. It has rained every day this week, but I did not once have to use my umbrella — until this afternoon. There had always been, as if by magic, a break in the rain when I’m going into or coming home from work. It was nice while it lasted!

On the knitting front, things are a bit boring, I’m afraid. I did finish the back of my sweater. Here is a photo of it rolled up into a tidy ball:

And I just barely started on the front.

I’m having a lot less than my usual knitting time this week, but I hope to make up for it over the weekend.

Lucy sez:

“I love rainy days — great napping weather!”

  1. Even rolled into a ball that looks gorgeous – can’t wait to see the final product and/or pattern!!!
Lucky you … my hair is officially rebelling because every day this week I’ve needed to use an umbrella and can’t find one – we used to have eleventy thousand of them but someone keeps taking them to school -ARRGH. I look like a Brillo pad with breasts.

    Happy Knitting 🙂

  3. Damn – it did not post the image! Ah well, here is a link instead (if it will post that):

  4. Wendy you need to send us down here in Texas some of that rain. We are dealing with drought and fires.
    Happy knitting

  5. Same weather here in Ohio, so you probably have more coming your way, I’m sorry to report.

  6. Nancy Jo Clark says:

My cat will accompany yours on the ark. That way there will be two!

  7. Gorgeous lace! Maybe you could bring some rain to Missouri on your way to Texas ;o)

  8. Judy Williams says:

Wish we could have some of that rain down here near Austin to help put out the fires. My Velcro dog reminds me so much of Lucy–always being helpful and napping at all hours. Just got your latest book and love it. So enjoy your blogs.

  9. Rainy days are but a faint memory here in Central Texas. I sure do envy you!

  10. Pleeeeze send some rain my way? It’s been in the 90s all week. Now that the kids are back in school, summer has started. But then I shouldn’t complain much. When the east and midwest were having a heat wave, we in the PWN were enjoying cool temperatures.

  11. Bon tricot pour ce week-end alors !

  12. I’d volunteer my kitty to walk with Lucy up the plank to the ark, but
    a) Schatzie’s a She, and so is Lucy, and
    b) Schatzie’s been fixed, so there would be no repopulation after the waters receded.

But Schatzie and Lucy would look good together. She’s a brown/grey/black Maine Coon/Siberian mix.

  13. It has been a week of rain here as well. I’ve not been lucky enough to go out during breaks in the weather, and most of the time I don’t believe in umbrellas anyway. Between the office buildings is like a wind tunnel, causing the umbrellas to flip inside out. Rather just get wet and wear warm clothes.

  14. That sweater will look great with your hair!

Is there a weather that’s bad for napping?

The sweater looks like it’s going to be lovely! But you’ve had a busy week. New jobs can really take it out of you. I know I come home from busy days at work and the knitting just doesn’t happen. Isn’t it great sleeping weather though?

  16. Dear Lucy,

My 2-1/2 year old granddaughter just saw your photos on Wendy’s blog and she thinks you are so cute. She is chuckling because of the photo of you wearing Wendy’s lacy knitting projects — that really tickled her fancy. She is saying, “Hi Lucy, hahahaha Wendy …” — thought you two should know this.

Hope your weather is nicer today.
