My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

I am pleased to report that I have an F.O.: the Trillian wrap. Here it is draped across my office chair.

I did a lot of knitting on this over the weekend. The only reason I finished it is because Laura started a Trillian and I couldn’t let her finish hers without finishing mine. 😉

I knit mine from one skein of Wollmeise in the “Im dunklen Wald” colorway, on a U.S. size 3 needle. I used most of the skein (and gave the tiny bit leftover to L-B to feed her hexi-puff addiction).

I have purchased a couple more Martina Behm patterns that work well with a single skein of Wollmeise sock yarn. There make great side projects to work on when I am tired of knitting with denim yarn at the end of the day. And it is a way to use some of my Wollmeise Wall of Shame. 😉

Speaking of denim yarn, I did only a bit of knitting on Filey over the weekend and am still working on the back. The back should be done this weekend.

And I picked up my sock in progress for my commute to work. I turned the heel this morning:

This is a not-quite-so-giant-as-the-last-giant-socks sock. But it’s still pretty big!

  1. Your Trillian looks terrific. I have a couple of skeins of Wollmeise, but I haven’t actually used any of them yet. It’s almost like I’m afraid to break into the skein and let all the awesomeness leak out!

  2. Nothing like a bit of competition to get an object off the needles! 🙂

Trillian is lovely and looks especially nice on the gray backdrop of your chair (and is that a gray coat also draped over the back of the chair?).

  3. Wow I was beginning to think someone fell off the face of the earth…glad to see you didn’t …..

  4. That sock is a lot of sock! The shawl is really very beautiful, so simple and elegant.

  5. Lucy is look especially fluffy these days. Does she fluff up when the days start to get shorter?

  6. The Trillion is beautiful in green! Such an inspiration!

  7. Your shawl looks great! Congrats! Well another Wollmeise addict 😉 – I’m just knitting your Garden Party Cardigan in Wollmeise Lace… the WM skeins – as Seanna Lea said – are awesome and just lovely to look at!

  8. Loving the colorway on Trillian…and the stripes on socks…the black section almost looks checkerboardish.

  9. Trillian looks great. I had run into disappointment with my socks. Note to self choose the type of heel you want before you start the pattern. I need to rip out both heels and work the foot a bit more they are too small.

    The Trillian is absolutely beautiful!

  11. Make that at least one Hexipuff for me and a catnip-stuffed one for Lucy! 🙂

  12. Thanks for sharing your Trillian. I have some handspun that is now begging to be a Trillian so I’m headed off to buy the pattern.
