This Belongs to Me

I have another book to review today, but not a knitting book. Last month Running Press contacted me to offer me a list of crafty books for review. I chose a few, and the first one arrived this week.

This is This Belongs to Me: Cool Ways to Personalize Your Stuff by Anna Wray. It is a book of ideas and projects for kids and teens on ways to personalize their belongings, from sneakers to lampshades.

The book contains 14 projects, in three different categories: Clothes, Accessories, and Room.BookA041413

Each project uses a different technique or design style, which is explained in detail with examples. There is a blank workbook page with templates where kids can come up with and practice their own ideas, then step-by-step instructions for how to implement their original ideas, including tons of illustrations, a list of all materials needed, tips and tricks, and of course clear, easy-to-understand, illustrated directions.

This is such a fun idea and would be great, I think for kids age 9 or 10 and up. Who’d like my review copy?

To be entered in a drawing to receive my copy, leave a comment on this blog post by noon Eastern Time on Sunday, April 21, 2013. The Random Number Generator will select a winner from among the comments.

Lucy is not eligible to enter.

My 26yo is a medical student who hosted “kick-ass craft night” at her place just before Halloween. We all came along with a bunch of my older daughters’ friends. There was knitting, paper craft, pumpkins being painted gold and with blackboard paint (my sons-in-law loved leaving funny messages on the pumpkins for several weeks!), beading, and beautiful cupcakes made by Anna. Yum! This book would have been a big hit. 🙂
