Sunday Check-in

First things first, the winner of the giveaway for a copy of  60 Quick Knits From America’s Yarn Shops is Andrea in TN, who has been emailed. Thanks to everyone who left a comment to enter the giveaway.

I was off from work all last week but unfortunately had a nasty upper respiratory infection, so did very little all week, apart from sleep and cough. I’m well on the round to recovery, just in time to head back to work tomorrow.

I have made some progress on Hitofude:

I am almost done with the last pattern repeat according to the pattern. If I wasn’t going to be adding length to this, I’d be working the bottom ribbing next. But I have a whole extra skein of yarn, so plan to continue on until I run out.

Loki thanks you for all your kind comments about his extreme floof. His coat has really come in beautifully and it’s the lovely Ragdoll “bunny” fur that is so very soft. He requires very little grooming, as his fur does not mat. A once-over with the Zoom Groom once a week is more than enough to keep him looking his best!

Loki sez;”I’m available for snuggles!”

  1. So sorry you were sick over the holiday too! I had a kidney infection and was sick Wednesday and finally feel almost normal today, just in time for work, boo. Oh well, such is life.
    Rose´s last blog post ..Thankful

  2. That is one fluffy kitty – such a cutie-pie

  3. I have a suggestion for your Loki-Lap intersection problem.
Put a kitty-cup in your lap. Maybe clothespin it to you.
Put Loki in the kitty cup. No more slow-motion bread dough inpersonations.

Of course, then you’ll be hot. But I imagine you get pretty hot just from all the floof in your lap to begin with.

  4. Mrrrrrrrrrow! Sootz would love to give Loki kitty-cuddles. He is one handsome guy and couldn’t wish for a better kitty-Mom. Love to watch your progress and sorry you were sick. Hope you avoid all germs the rest of the winter!

  5. So sorry you were ill over the holiday. Lots of lemon tea will help that cough. Love the new picture of Loki; such a pretty kitty! Take care and get well real soon.

  6. How many skeins total did you buy for Hitofude Cardigan?

  7. Very soft fur…so cuddly. I liked the projects in that book, thx for sharing. Hope you had a very good Thanksgiving…

  8. Loki is one cute little fur ball! Glad you’re on the mend.

  9. Sorry you were ill. What a bummer, now back to the salt mines. Loki is one beautiful kitty. Love his fluffy feathers.

  10. Glad that you are feeling better! Loki’s fur is coming in beautifully;O)) I have 2 girl kitties but had a male before. I think the males are a little more snuggly!

So sorry you were sick all week. I hope someone brought you chicken soup for Thanksgiving. I have one kitty with long fur that mats awful. I have a Norwegian wildcat and she has rather course guard hairs over thick long fur and never mats. Loki looks like he would be so snuggly. I love the green in your cqrdi. Beautiful.

  12. congrats to Andrea, looks like I book I will need to add to my library!! Glad you are on the mend, Wendy, and, as always, love the pic of Loki. Wish I was local, Loki, I would take you up on your snuggles offer!! Never heard of a kitty cup before – Sidney @5:30 – interesting concept… Thanks for the post.

  13. I am sorry to hear you were not feeling well on the holiday; glade you are feeling better. I would love a Loki kitty snuggle; but Wisconsin is a long way for that. Never heard of a Kitty Cup.

  14. Well if you’ve gotta be out of commission, during time off is the at least economical! Sorry you had a less than stellar holiday; good thing you’ve got such a lovely companion to cheer you. Let me check the airline…nope, can’t get a ticket this week, so give the Thunder Kitty a snuggle for me!
    CeltChick´s last blog post ..Thanks
