My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

I finished my Foolproof Cowl last week!

My cowl is about 60″ in circumference.

It goes around the neck doubled very nicely.

This was knit from Three Irish Girls Kells Sport — one skein each of the two colorways: Mary Bailey and Illusion. I used a U.S. size 5 needle.

The pattern can be found here.

How much did I enjoy this pattern? So much that I immediately wound up some yarn to start another one:

This is Wollmeise “Pure” fingering weight in the Pfefferminz Prinz and Wasabi colorways. I started another Foolproof using a U.S. size 3 needle:

This time, I’m making up my own striping sequence. But more about that next time. I have something important to do right now:

  1. Cathy S says:

You are so lucky with cats: Lucky, Loki, who, by the way, is adorable!

  2. Cathy S says:

    I meant Lucy

  3. Mary Lou says:

You are such an enabler, Wendy! Now I have to go out and buy the pattern and some yarn for that lovely cowl. What’s worse is that I live in Florida and we wear woolies for about one month out of the year! Shawls and sweaters do come in handy in the AC, however.

  4. Sharon says:

I love the cowl and I’m wondering if anyone out there will try to put an i-cord edging on it . I think it might neaten up the edge, or just not let the edging bother me.

  5. Midnite Baker says:

Give Loki a rub for me. Am on vacation this week and keep wondering frequently what Sparky is doing. Like your finished scarf and the new colors for your next one. M

  6. Very fun! Like the choice of colors for both.

  7. i agree that you are an enabler–this pattern is just glorious. Now if I could only knit as fast as you!

  8. Love the blues and greens for your second cowl. Loki is so sweet. And forgot to comment on the last post, but what a hoot that he was watching tv!!!

  9. I tried making it but am lousy at carrying the yarn up the side. Maybe you can do a pictorial on how you do it since it looks so nice. Thanks

  10. the colors you’ve chosen for your second cowl make my heart beat a little faster. ūüôā Absolutely gorgeous … both cowls, and Loki too!

  11. I love the colors chosen for your second scarf! Love the finished pic’s of the first one, absolutely stunning. Loki looks like he is bathed in love!

  12. Lovely Cowl, definitely going on my To Knit list on Ravelry. Love the second colourway. Happp Belated birthday wishes to Loki x
