I’ve set my Boxy to one side temporarily because I want to give Jennifer a chance to catch up to me a bit in our mini-KAL. Since I won’t be wanting to wear it until well into next winter, I’m in no hurry to finish it. This is definitely a process knit.
So I started something new.
This is The Joker and the Thief — a new shawl design by Melanie Berg. I am knitting mine from a Sunshine Yarns kit in one of the many color choices put together for this shawl. It was no contest for me: I picked option #13, which has a main color of Charcoal, and the “Bag of Limes” gradient set.
The shawl is a very fun knit. There is nothing terribly difficult about it — even the “Indian Cross-stitch” which looks complex is actually quite easy to execute.
It is a very entertaining knit, even though it is quite easy, because you keep switching between the two different stitch pattern sections and work in a progression of gradients. I do love a gradient!
In other news, the last clue of the Outlander MKAL shawl was delivered yesterday so I finished my shawl. No spoiler pix here, but you can see my finished shawl on my Ravelry project page.
And as always, Loki supervises everything I do.
That looks like so much fun. I need to try a gradient kit. They aren’t at my LYS for so e reason….

I think that’s the best picture of Loki yet. And that’s saying something – he’s very photogenic.
Gwendolyn certainly looks fetching in your new shawl.
Love the colors of your new project. No knitting for me right now, as I’ve finished planting the garden and vacation starts Tuesday. And Loki wants a chin rub, followed by the extra relaxing rub behind and around the ears, while listening to some soothing music. 🙂 Love, M
This will be fantastic! All my favorite colors.

What an interesting color combination. I’ve been trying to think of colors to repaint my kithen chairs (and recover the seats) maybe this one is it! I’ll have to try a few swatches on my chairs. Lime and dk gray…. hmmmmm

We seem to have similar tastes. My Joker and the Thief kit arrived a few weeks ago: Feather (a pale gray) is the main color and I chose the teal gradient to go with it. It is near the top of my pile of “next projects” (right after the socks from Sock Madness on my needles and a sweater test knit for a new book).
I love the close-ups of your shawl.

Gorgeous colors. Can’t wait to see the shawl completed. It has my interest. I must finish swallowtail first.
