My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

During the blizzard last weekend I cast on something to brighten things up:

The pattern is Auburn Wave and the yarn is Silky 350 by Violet Lynx Dyeworks.

I have three skeins of the lovely rainbow gradient, so I started the first skein at red and knit through violet, the other end of the skein. So I started the second skein at the violet end and will work through to the red end, and will then start the third skein with red. I’m making my shawl larger than the pattern directs because I have plenty of yarn. Other mods — I am slipping the first stitch, purlwise, on each row, and instead of working k2tog where directed, I am working k2tog tbl. Just because.

Loki thinks the best way he can help is to nap!

  1. What a lovely pattern and yarn combo you chose! It makes me want to drop my current projects and start my own Auburn Wave.

This sort of thing happens a lot when I read your blog. 😉

  2. Gorgeous yarn, and Loki is probably right.
