My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

Do the Twist

Here is my Fiesta Bag that I showed in my last blog entry, now with handles!

Rather than knit the handles according to the pattern, I’ve made i-cord handles. I started out knitting the handles from the pattern but decided I preferred i-cords, so ripped out what I started.

On Friday I will start my July Camp Loopy project, a shawl called Sur le chemin de l’école. I will be knitting it in this yarn:

That’s Madelinetosh Pashmina in the “Rain Water” colorway. I’ve got three skeins. Such a pretty colorway!

ChiaoGoo Twist Mini

Have you seen the new ChiaoGoo Twist Mini interchangeable needle set? I pre-ordered a set when it was announced and got it a couple of weeks ago.

(Diet Coke included for scale.)

It’s a set of very small-sized needles: five tip sizes US000 (1.5mm) to US1.5 (2.5mm), three cables, a wee box with the little parts and pieces, and a ruler. This set is packed in a tidy little black mesh pouch.

The whole thing packed up will fit very neatly into your knitting bag. A nice little set!

Loki Sez

“Hello, Lady Kitties!”

That is his “come hither” look.

  1. Wendy, how long are the tips on the interchangeable set? I like the idea of small interchangeables, but I have a hard time holding short tips comfortably. I’ve got a set of the Dyakcraft Heavy Metal interchangeables in the 5″ length. Those are fine, but I’m not sure I’d want 4″ tips.

  2. Ah – missed the detail in the pic. 5″. Perfect!

  3. Denise Wessman says:

Love the needles!!! Can’t wait to see your shawl. Madelinetosh is one of my favorite yarns. You’ve chosen a wonderful color way. It’s very tempting to become distracted from my present project. Restraint!!!

  4. The bag is appropriately festive! Love the needles, must get!

Works for me too Loki! I like the psychadelic look of the bag handle.

  6. Sophy0075 says:

Oooh, that *is* a pretty colorway!

    Loki is a seductive devil…

  7. GeniaKnitz says:

Can’t find “Rain Water” – might it be “Well Water”? Love, love, love it.

  8. GeniaKnitz says:

Oops – found the Rain Water. So pretty

  9. Such a cheerful, bright bag, perfect for summer. Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with that lovely pashmina yarn.

  10. Goodness I had no idea they had these sets. I love ChiaoGoo needles. I’m also a little in love with Loki right now. So adorable!

  11. Gorgeous yarn chosen for a lovely shawl! I’m going to have to check out those needles. Did not even know they were available, so thanks for posting. Loki is utterly charming as always!!

  12. Jackie Bartlett says:
