My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

Long Term WIP

The winner of my copy of Vintage Hollywood Knits: Knit 20 Glamorous Sweaters as Worn by the Stars by Bill Gibb is Diann, who has been emailed. Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway!

Here is what I have been working on for the past week:

This is my own creation, knit from 16 shades of Wollmeise Blend. What it will become is a jacket. The colors in the photo are a bit off, but close.

I am knitting in the round (on approximately 1 billion stitches), so I have incorporated a steek, to be cut open to make the front opening.

And I knit a plain facing around the bottom hem. Here is the bottom edge with the facing folded under.

More will be revealed as this thing grows!

Loki promises to keep an eye on my progress!

  1. This Wollmeise project is so fine! I can’t wait to see more rows.

  2. That is mighty pretty! I look forward to seeing it when you finish it, in, oh, about 2020. 😉

  3. WOW! Your Wollmeise project is beautiful. Love the colors. Looking forward to seeing more rows.

Oh my gosh! A billion stitches- in colorwork.

I don’t think the universe has enough time left for me to finish an oeuvre like that.

  5. Love it! Do you need my address? Cuddles to Loki.

  6. Your creativity is amazing! I always look forward to seeing what you’re working on!

  7. I can’t wait to see more of your latest project…the colors are so pretty.

I look forward to watching the progress on this amazing project. I must say you are not faint of heart. I know you are a very fast knitter with special skills and I wish I could be more like you, this project would take me forever. Thanks for sharing all your efforts. Loki says…put that down now mom time to love your boy.

  9. that’s very pretty.

  10. At least it is in Wollmeise, so the billion stitches are scrumptious…

We are all waiting to see the finished product!

  11. Oh, I love me some colourwork! It looks very Norwegian/Scandinavian; have you charted out the design, or are you making it up as you go along? (And how did you manage to get your hands on 16 different Wollmeise shades?!!)

Loki, you are a seriously fluffy and handsome boy.

  12. Great color combination – looking forward to the finished masterpiece!

I just learned/relearned latvian braids & two color cast on. That’s about the extent of mine 🙁
