Merveille du Jour

This is Merveille du Jour, designed by Alice Starmore, which I purchased as a kit from Virtual Yarns.

The kit includes a matching hat, and I do plan to knit it, but I’m starting something else before I make it, just for a change. Stay tuned!

We are art the beginning of a government shutdown, so I am temporarily unemployed. We could re-open tomorrow, or we could be shut down for weeks. However long it lasts, I look at it as extra knitting time.

Loki thinks it’s extra snuggle time.

  1. Gloria Alvarez says:

Magnificent. Alice Starmore is a genius, and you are, too. Soooo envious of your skill (tho I muddle along quite contentedly avoiding color work . . .)

  2. Nancy DeMere says:

    The sweater is stunning!

  3. Getting the knitting time in while you can. Once you get to work it is catchup time yuck. Have you gotten the new Vogue Knitting. Interested to hear your thoughts.

  4. It’s beautiful, Wendy. And maybe it’s Loki who’s really behind the shutdown – extra snuggle time…

  5. So Beautiful! That yoke is amazing. Ahh handsome boy!

  6. Your garment is stunning. I love, love the colorway of the fair isle design in the yoke. You did a fantastic job knitting! Loki will enjoy your unexpected time off with you enjoying extra knitting time.

  7. Barbara Runcie says:

    WOW!! Gorgeous

  8. Absolutely beautiful.

  9. So wonderfully executed. A thing of beauty. Still developing my skills at 68 years. My best to Loki.

  10. Lovely poncho! I’ve always admired the designs by Alice and Jade Starmore. I’ve not yet worked up the nerve to try one of them though! I’ve been looking at the extra non-work time as bonus knitting time too!

  11. Your poncho is lovely! Can’t wait to see the hat. Hope you enjoyed your extra knitting time.
Jeannie Gray´s last blog post ..Shed a tear

  12. Loki has his priorities wrong. But then again, he doesn’t have opposable thumbs, so knitting can’t be his priority, I guess. OK – back to the tummy rub plan.

  13. Such a pretty poncho. I really admire colorwork but can’t do it as I tend to zone out when knitting.
