My current work in progress:

Roscalie Cardigan by Alice Starmore, knit from Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift¬† on a US 3 needle

Archives for September 2020

Nineteen

Why nineteen? That’s the number of colors in my new project:

This is the Marina Cardigan, designed by Alice Starmore, purchased as a kit from Virtual Yarns.

Long-time blog readers may recall that I knit the Marina pullover years ago. How many years was it? Fifteen? At least fifteen, and knit from Jamieson & Smith Shetland Spindrift. Here it is:

The colors on the Virtual Yarns version are very close.

Speaking of colors, I dug out my old sock organizer to sort the colors. This is a very handy way top keep your colors organized when you have many!

(Don’t ask me where I purchased this — I have no idea! It was a long time ago!)

In other news, Loki is back in his tote bag!

Lynsey, Completed

I finished this on Friday!

This is Lynsey, a pattern from Jamieson & Smith, knit from Elsawool Cormo fingering weight lambswool.

Next up, a far more complex fair isle. Stay tuned!

One Down, One to Go

Sleeves, that is.

I’m knitting exactly as directed with one exception: the sleeve decreases. You start with 160-something stitches and decrease down to 70 before starting the cuff. I decreased down to 96, then worked straight for the remainder of the “body” of the sleeve — about 4″. Then I decreased down to 72 stitches and worked the cuff on those stitches. I’m happy with how it looks. I don’t like too-narrow sleeves.

Loki really doesn’t care one way or the other.
