My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

Marina Cardi

I finished this on Thursday:

This is, of course, Marina, designed by Alice Starmore and knit from a kit from VirtualYarns. Now I have packed it away, and hopefully someday I can go out of my condo again and actually wear it!

I enjoyed every minute of the knitting of this and discovered a new-to-me wooden needle that works beautifully with stranded knitting: Lykke circulars. The joins are great and they were a pleasure to use.

I have decreed this The Autumn of Fair Isle, so I have started another one. And Loki is still supervising.

  1. Beautiful!

  2. Wow!! That is gorgeous!

  3. That is stunning! I love my Lykke needles. The double points are some of the best sock knitting needles I’ve found, and I agree about the joins on the circulars.

  4. Linnell Nickerson says:

The sweater is just beautiful! Never have used Lykke needles. I’ll have to investigate and find out more about them. The Kittie is always beautiful!! Take care and stay save!!

  5. Sweater is beautiful! Will have to investigate the Lykke needles! The Kittie is always beautiful!! take care!

  6. This is beautiful.Yes someday we will all be able to leave the house safely.

  7. Marina is gorgeous! Nineteen colors – no wonder you used a kit. I’d never be able to pick out 19 coordinating yarns on my own.

  8. Beautiful cardy – colors glow! Would never have guessed there were so many colors but maybe that’s where the glow comes from. Such beautiful work too. It’s already freezing where I live.

  9. Elaine in NYC says:

    Sensational—a real stunner!

  10. Lestersmama says:

    The buttons are perfect.
I love my Lykke interchangeables. I have both the regular length and the short.

  11. Monica Cortada says:

So beautiful! I’ll have to try the Lykke needles. 🙂

  12. Just beautiful. Seriously beautiful design and workmanship.

Two questions – since you were answering questions a post of two ago.

Would you have changed anything about the colors? Just wondering, since it was a kit.

And I kind of wonder how you keep track of patterns you might be interested in making. Do you keep a lot of favorites on Ravelry, for example.

  13. Really like the color combination! Kitty looks so relaxed 😌

  14. Wow! That sweater is SO gorgeous!

  15. those are some very versatile colors.
may I tell you a secret? since the weather’s gotten cooler, sometimes I open a window so I can wear my woolies indoors.

  16. So beautiful. I would wear it daily. I like it even better as a cardigan (after steeking). Don’t ask me why. My house arrest summer of stash knitting has bled well into autumn. Such a good feeling.
