Autumn of Fair Isle

My Autumn of Fair Isle continues . . .

This is the Roscalie Cardigan from Alice Starmore’s In the Hebrides. I’m knitting mine from Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift. It on ly has five colors in total and is a very traditional-looking fair isle. I like that no two of the main peerie patterns are the same. The smaller border patterns are very simple and were easy to memorize.

is taking his supervisory position very seriously.

  1. Monica Cortada says:

Love the bright colors and contrasts!

  2. It’s a pleasure seeing your Fair Isle projects. It’s my favorite kind of knitting!

  3. That looks like a fun pattern! Pretty reasonable for your skill

  4. Lovely! A vintage look, with those colors.

  5. So now I see clearly what is meant by a peerie. I had always thought it was the thinner more repetitive part. Don’t ask me why. The Colors are beautiful. Chloe
