My current work in progress:

Stornoway, designed by Alice Starmore from her book Fishermen’s Sweaters, knit in Frangipani 5-ply guernsey wool in the Aran colorway, on a 3.0mm needle.

An Oldie But a Goodie

My current, soon-to-be-completed project:

This is a modified version of Luskentyre by Alice Starmore, originally published in the very long out-of-print book The Scottish Collection. The original is a pullover and I have modified it into a cardigan. I’m using Jamieson & Smith shetland wool in the original colors.

This design is named for Luskentyre Beach in the Outer Hebrides, so I selected buttons that look like wee sand dollars.

As you can see, Loki is impressed!

Stunning! You must have a closet of gorgeous sweaters, the weather is appropriately cold, but there is nowhere to go. 🥺☹️

  6. Lovely! And this is a particularly cute picture of LoKi! Merry Christmas!

  7. My favorite of all the AS designs. I love her as a cardi and these buttons are everything. Nice work, Wendy!

  8. Beautiful sweater. Such professional knitting!! Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year!! xo

  9. This is especially impressive to me because long ago in a library’s knitting section I happened on The Scottish Collection, already well-thumbed but still surviving. I was dazzled. The gradations of perfectly chosen beautiful colors, mostly autumnal as I recall.. It must have been pure joy to knit this pattern from it. Merry Christmas!
