My current work in progress:

Stornoway, designed by Alice Starmore from her book Fishermen’s Sweaters, knit in Frangipani 5-ply guernsey wool in the Aran colorway, on a 3.0mm needle.

Fair Isle Fun

I’m making nice progress on my current WIP:

The pattern is Raga, designed by Violet McQuade, knit from Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift. It’s not a hugely complex pattern because there are only seven different colors, but it is a fun knit, and I do like this colorway very much. The pattern offers you a choice of knitting it in one of four different colorways. I managed to restrain myself from going immediately to the green colorway and chose the red colorway instead. The other two choices are grey and blue. You can see the other colorways (and more) in the Ravelry project gallery.

Meanwhile, Loki is as helpful as usual.

  1. “Only” seven colors? Yes, 2 at a time but still. My max so far is three.

I think Loki is demonstrating a retirement master class!

The colors are awesome! I love the way fair isle ribbing turns out in stripes. I’ve been slugging away at my fair isle sweater since last summer. It’s not a mindless task for me. Socks are my
    mindless go to.

  3. Your colorwork is gorgeous!

    Absolutely stunning!!
